Eclipse by Bev

Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer is amazing.

Rating: 4.89 Gold Stars out of five

What It's About: More adventures of Bella Swan/Edward Cullen. The Cullens have returned to Forks (hurray) and all seems well. OH WAIT! We forgot about the jerks from Books 1 and 2. So we've got Victoria and Laurent to deal with. Not to mention the whole deal with Jacob Black, bloody werewolf. The book deals with Edward-Jacob conflicts (Twilight was primarily Edward, New Moon was dominated by Jacob). Humans, werewolves and vampires alike will just die to get their paws on this novel. (Hahaha. Not that funny..)

Bad Points: Too much Jacob Black. Rather confusing. Edward needs anger counseling (but I think we got that from the first novels. Um. He broke a TV. You don't just go and break a TV because your family votes to turn your girlfriend into a vampire. Jeez.) And, as with all Twilight novels, Eclipse is quite random at times.

Good Points: Ungodly funny at times. ("Bella, would you please stop trying to take your clothes off?") Suspenseful. Graphic. Leaves you wondering about what the eff is gonna happen in the next one. Made me sigh several times from love for Edward. Like when he proposes. Oh shoot. Shouldn't have told'ja that.

The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury

Characters: Way, WAY, too many to talk about here.

Plot: This novel is actually a collection of short story's edited to look like they have a thin plot.
Man goes to Mars. He is struck down. It repeats itself 3 times before the Martians almost go extinct. They colonize, they adapt, they transform. Some people rebel, try to stop them from ruining the wonderful planet by making it in Earth's image. But when war breaks out on Earth, they leave. The world is thrown into chaos, space travel is illegal, stranding the few people left on Mars. Some survive, some don't.

Good: Excellent writing

Bad: A bit confusing.

Something Wicked tis way Comes by Ray Bradbury

4/5

Characters-
Jim Nightshade: Born 1 minute before midnight on October 30'th, he seeks to use the power of the carnival to become older.

Will Halloway: Born 1 minute after midnight on October 31'st, he is Jim's best friend and son of Charles Halloway. He wants nothing from the carnival.

Charles Halloway: Will's dad. He is tempted by the carnival with his youth at one point.

Mr. Dark/The Illustrated Man: Co-owner of the carnival. His body is covered with moving tatoos.

Mr. Cooger/Mr. Electrico: Co-owner of the carnival. He uses the merry-go-round's age changing powers to look like other people. Jim and Will use it to age him 100 years, he then becomes a carnival freak named Mr. Electrico.

Lightning Rod Salesman/Dwarf: A man who sells lightning rods. He is taken by the carnival and made to look like a dwarf, with no memory of his former life.

Witch: A blind witch in the carnival who can control things. Laughter and smiles hurt her.

Carnival: Not a character but is still very important. A mysterious carnival with real freaks. it draws people in with promises of youth or age.

Good Points: Thrilling
Shocking

Bad Points: A bit slow

New Moon by Bev

Well.. today while I was sick I finished New Moon by Stephenie Meyer, sequel to Twilight (thanks for the review, Marilyn!)

Rating- 4 gold stars out of five

What It's About- Vampire-on-human love. And werewolves. And Jacob Black. And Bella Swan. Oh, and guess what! There's an effing sad birthday party in it!

Worst points- Sad arse beginning. Very confusing stuff about werewolves, death, and the Volturi. I can't stand that little arsehole Jacob Black.

Best points- Excellent writing. I love her style. Interesting plot twists. Also- sort of funny at times. And a very happy ending. All followers of romantic vampire-on-human love will be euphoric at the end after they have screamed themselves stupid at the Volturi.

Who should read it- Anyone who read Twilight. You can't read it before Twilight- or I'll hurt you.

Twilight Review by Marilyn

Yes, I'm doing what Bev said and writeing a book review.

Book: Twilight
Rateing: 4 out of 5
Review:
Twilight is a book about a vampire and a human falling in love, when they arn't suppose to.Lots of acctions and mushy gushy romance stuff.Don't read if your afraid of vampires!!

What I like:
The fact it was a romance novel and there are 2 other books in the saga and the fact it was about vampires.

What I didn't like:
Not enough fighting, needs more romance and it was completely random at times.

The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie

Wow. What can I say about a novel that has humor, dry wit, and murder? Well, I suppose I can say that.

Bindy Mackenzie is a know-it-all. But she is very approchable, she wears pretty nail polish, her hair in plaits, and teaches seminars during lunch.

So why would someone want to murder her?

It seems she knows something she isn't supposed to know.

An-ty-ways, Bindy is forced to do Friendship and Development with the Venomous 7, 7 total jerks. Who all have motives to kill her.

So what is going on here?

To complete this tapestry, check out The Murder of Bindy Mackenzie by Jaclyn Moriarty from your local library. Woo!
